Batman The Dark Knight 2008

With just one year having passed after taking out Ra’s Al Ghul’s plan to have Gotham eliminated and the mysterious disappearance of Dr. Jonathan Crane AKA the Scarecrow, and after the city was nearly plundered with his toxins, Bruce Wayne and his vigilante alter-ego the Batman, continue the seemingly endless effort to bring order to Gotham, with the help of Lt. James Gordon and newly appointed District Attorney Harvey Dent. But a new threat has now emerged into the streets. The Dark Knight faces a rising psychopathic criminal called The Joker, whose eerie grin, laughter, and inhuman morality makes him as dangerous than what he has yet to unleash. It becomes an agenda to Batman to stop the mysterious Joker at all costs, knowing that both of them are in an opposite line. One has no method at all and seeks to see the world plunge into the fire he has yet to light. “The Dark Knight” is still on the tip of everyone’s tongue. But now, instead of folks breathlessly asking each other if they’d seen it, talk has turned to speculation over Batman‘s next foe. Who’s it gonna be?

iVillage is reporting that the Caped Crusader may take on the Riddler in “Batman 3.” According to the rumor mill, Johnny Depp might sign on to play the nefarious super-criminal. But caveat emptor—this could be just as false as the one about Crispin Glover playing the Joker.

Slashfilm notes that there are additional possibilities floating around. For instance, Phillip Seymour Hoffman may play the Penguin or Angelina Jolie could don Catwoman‘s skin-tight suit. Truth or fiction, fanboys around the world must be having a heart attack at the mere possibility.

Still, the “official” rumor mill is just one of the ways superfans are checking in on the next Batman flick. Many seek the scoop themselves. We’ve noticed impressive searches on “batman 3 rumors,” “dark knight sequel casting rumors,” and “batman’s next villain.”

That last query is very telling. People clearly want to know the answer, but we doubt even the filmmakers have decided. To that end, may we offer the studio execs this humble piece of Search-informed advice: Go with Catwoman. She’s far-and-away the most popular baddie and there are already a slew of searches on possible cast members including Jessica Biel, Amy Adams, and, wait for it, Maggie Gyllenhaal. Do fans think Rachel Dawes, Bruce Wayne’s one-and-only, was really the Catwoman all along? fbfbfbb

It’s well known that Thierry Henry wasn’t a big fan of Alexander Hleb. The Belarussian was often on the end of a withering stare from Henry after another pass went astray or a move broke down.

Of course the pair get to continue their great friendship at Barcelona now that Hleb has signed for the Catalan club. Henry was at the press conference last night to announce Hleb’s arrival and this picture really does speak a thousand words.

DragonForce are the metal sensations of recent years, making their mark right across the globe with a colossal run of shows to promote one of the genres most remarkable releases.

‘Inhuman Rampage’ left the press in a state of critical meltdown. “While most bands want to be bigger than Metallica, DragonForce have the capacity to exceed Star Wars,” gushed the UK’s Metal Hammer magazine. “How DragonForce will ever top this album remains to be seen,” agreed its gobsmacked sister title, Kerrang! had already got in on the act, declaring: “DragonForce are only getting bigger. Prepare for the onslaught.”

But it wasn’t just Britain that fell under the band’s spell. The media from all over North America, Continental Europe, Japan and Australia joined them, and Germany’s Rock Hard astutely predicted: “DragonForce could become the first British metal band in ages to reap respect from all over the world.”

The six-man wrecking crew notched up 3 World Tours, 240 shows in 26 countries including North America no less than four times for ‘Inhuman Rampage’, winning kudos from peers and influences alike, accumulating several shelves full of awards along the way, and sending audiences wild with an explosive musical style that features elements from all styles of music from rock, metal all the way to early 90’s video games music; a unique style that in the absence of anything more descriptive they like to call ‘extreme power metal’. If anything, the DragonForce sound is as complex and hard to pin down as their bizarre combination of national heritage. Though based in London, the group have roots in, Hong Kong, New Zealand, South Africa, Ukraine, Scotland and France.

‘Inhuman Rampage’ is the third DragonForce album, following ‘Valley Of The Damned’ (2003) and ‘Sonic Firestorm’ (2004). Those first two records were well received in their own right, but the band’s last disc – the first to be marketed by Roadrunner Records in the UK, N. America and Australia – is the one that really thrust them to international contention.

“This time around we were able to make videos, and more and more TV channels around the world ended up playing them,” explains Herman Li, one half of the band’s unstoppable guitar army, referring to the popular promos for ‘Through The Fire And Flames’ and ‘Operation Ground And Pound’. “It meant that people could hear the music and decide for themselves,” he adds. “The magazines started to take quite an interest in us, too, at last. Until then it had all been down to the internet and word of mouth.”

DragonForce began touring the third album in North America even before its release, headlining – and, more importantly, filling – clubs of varying sizes. In most cases, tickets for these dates sold out within a week. There were unusual scenes in Los Angeles, Sunset Boulevard being temporarily closed down as swarms of DragonForce fans departed the Whisky A Go Go in post-gig, sword-waving euphoria. The group’s growing reputation quickly led to a prize spot on the main stage of the US Ozzfest.

On that same tour, Ozzy Osbourne’s guitarist Zakk Wylde told an interviewer: “DragonForce are awesome, bro.” Meanwhile, an astounded Kirk Hammett of Metallica agreed: “Those guys from DragonForce are the fastest guitar players I think I’ve ever seen. They’re like Yngwie Malmsteen on steroids.”

Once the Ozzfest was over, striking while the iron was still hot, the band jetted across the Atlantic – AGAIN! – for another coast to coast headlining US tour, including sold out shows at the Wiltern Theater in Los Angeles and the Nokia Theater in New York’s Times Square.

As well as concentrating on the USA, the group were invited to play the main stage at the UK’s prestigious Download Festival twice, in the summers of ’06 & ‘07, also playing two sold out UK headline tours, 3 visits to Japan including Tokyo’s Loud Park Festival, their debut tour of Australia (again, sold out) and maintaining an equally high profile in mainland Europe.

With so much roadwork under their collective (bullet) belt, it’s no surprise that the band’s live show has developed into a blink-and-you’ll-miss-it audio-visual extravaganza. The guitarists bounce around on trampolines whilst sending rapid-fire arpeggios of red-hot riffing and scorching solos into the stratosphere. A chest-beating frontman in the old school mould, South African ZP Theart covers every inch of the stage, never missing a note. Vadim Pruzhanov’s lunatic keyboard playing is a sight to behold, but he also makes a point of throwing shapes at the front of the stage on a portable instrument. It’s more than obvious that Frédéric Leclercq began life as a guitarist offering far more than mere rhythmic accompaniment to Dave Mackintosh’s frantic yet refined percussion.

“There has been a huge leap,” acknowledges Li. “Something I noticed on the last UK tour is that we’d grown more on that tour than over both the previous two albums. That’s partly because we had our own production and more control over technical things that used to go wrong, but mostly it’s because we’ve grown as a band.”

As 2006 drew to a close, Li and Totman made a strong showing in the annual Guitar World readers’ poll. The shred-tastic duo romped home in four categories; namely Best New Talent (where they registered an astonishing 70% of the vote), Best Metal, Best Riff and, of course, Best Shredders. Not to be left out, the readers of Total Guitar also hailed ‘Through the Fire and Flames’ as Guitar Solo of the Year.

Demand for DragonForce in their adopted home of the UK has been little short of staggering – especially considering the hostility that their type of face-melting metal traditionally faces. With a second show at London’s Astoria having been added to the last headline UK tour, one might say that DragonForce have single-handedly taken a blowtorch to a scene that seemed almost cryogenically frozen.

2007 kicked off with Li invited to perform as special guest with guitar legend Steve Vai, with more touring in Russia, Europe, Australia, New Zealand, S. E. Asia and another 6 week long N. American tour. As ’07 came to a close, the inclusion of the track Through the Fire and Flames from the Inhuman Rampage album on the Guitar Hero III video game once again thrust the band into the consciousness of metal fans around the globe, and having been confirmed for the main stage on the forthcoming Rockstar Mayhem US tour alongside Slipknot and Disturbed this summer, together with a new album scheduled for release later in the year, the DragonForce phenomenon is set to blaze even more trails around the world!

DragonForce was formed in 1999 from the remnants of the band Demoniac under the name of DragonHeart, but they changed their name to DragonForce before releasing any commercial albums due to possible commercial issues with Brazilian band Dragonheart. Their career began with the publishing of their early songs on the first incarnation of MP3.com, claiming the top of the site’s heavy metal charts. The hit song “Valley of the Damned” reached over 500,000 downloads in the first few months. Two of the original members, Steve Williams and Steve Scott, left the band to form the power metal outfit Power Quest. Sam Totman also started a side project called Shadow Warriors featuring himself and ZP Theart. Sam has confirmed many times that Herman Li was not involved with Shadow Warriors.

The band’s first successful song was “Starfire” off of their debut album, Valley of the Damned. It was most noted because it starts off with a light piano intro, which is atypical among DragonForce songs. DragonForce have released three albums and toured extensively while supporting Helloween, W.A.S.P. and Iron Maiden. Their 2005 tour in support of the Sonic Firestorm album included support from Angra and Mendeed during their passage through the UK. On October 28, 2005 bassist Adrian Lambert announced his departure from the band in order to focus more time on raising his young son[2] (Lambert later revealed in an interview that he had left due to musical differences with Herman Li and Sam Totman[citation needed]). Less than a month after Lambert’s departure, on November 23, 2005, DragonForce were signed to Roadrunner Records in the United States, United Kingdom, France, Australia and New Zealand, who released their most recent effort, Inhuman Rampage on January 9, 2006. Lambert was replaced in 2006 by Frédéric Leclercq, who was made an official member after a performance on tour.

A master track of the song “Through the Fire and Flames” is featured in the video game Guitar Hero III: Legends of Rock and is generally considered to be the most challenging track in the Guitar Hero series[3]. The developers used the song to demonstrate the game at E3. After Guitar Hero III: Legends of Rock was released, the band’s music sales reportedly increased dramatically[4].

A new DragonForce album has been announced to be released on August 25th, 2008.

Cybercrime: sebuah Fenomena di Dunia Maya

Sejalan dengan kemajuan teknologi informatika yang demikian pesat, melahirkan internet sebagai sebuah fenomena dalam kehidupan umat manusia. Internet, yang didefinisikan oleh The U.S. Supreme Court sebagai: “international network of interconnected computers” (Reno v. ACLU, 1997), telah menghadirkan kemudahan-kemudahan bagi setiap orang bukan saja sekedar untuk berkomunikasi tapi juga melakukan transaksi bisnis kapan saja dan di mana saja. Saat ini berbagai cara untuk dapat berinteraksi di “dunia maya” ini telah banyak dikembangkan. Salah satu contoh adalah lahirnya teknologi wireless application protocol (WAP) yang memungkinkan telepon genggam mengakses internet, membayar rekening bank, sampai dengan memesan tiket pesawat.

Beberapa waktu lalu, sebuah perusahaan penyedia jasa akses internet di Indonesia, berencana untuk mengembangkan televisi digital virtual studio untuk wilayah Indonesia dan beberapa negara Asia lainnya (Bisnis Indonesia, 07/07/2000). Televisi digital yang rencananya akan menyajikan informasi terkini di bidang keuangan, bisnis, teknologi informasi dan pasar modal selama 24 jam ini menggunakan jaringan internet dan satelit sebagai media operasionalnya.

Pada perkembangannya, ternyata penggunaan internet tersebut membawa sisi negatif, dengan membuka peluang munculnya tindakan-tindakan anti-sosial dan perilaku kejahatan yang selama ini dianggap tidak mungkin terjadi. Sebagaimana sebuah teori mengatakan: “crime is a product of society its self”, yang secara sederhana dapat diartikan bahwa masyarakat itu sendirilah yang melahirkan suatu kejahatan. Semakin tinggi tingkat intelektualitas suatu masyarakat, semakin canggih pula kejahatan yang mungkin terjadi dalam masyarakat itu.

Kejahatan yang lahir sebagai dampak negatif dari perkembangan aplikasi internet ini sering disebut sebagai cybercrime. Walaupun jenis kejahatan ini belum terlalu banyak diketahui secara umum, namun The Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) dalam laporannya mengatakan bahwa tindak kejahatan yang dapat dikategorikan sebagai cybercrime telah meningkat empat kali lipat sejak tiga tahun belakangan ini (Indonesian Observer, 26/06/2000), di mana pada tahun 1998 saja telah tercatat lebih dari 480 kasus cybercrime terjadi di Amerika Serikat ( http://emergency.com/cybrcm98.htm). Hal ini membuat lebih dari 2/3 warga Amerika Serikat memiliki perhatian serius terhadap perkembangan cybercrime, sebagaimana hasil polling yang dilakukan EDI, suatu perusahaan Amerika Serikat yang bergerak dibidang TI (Indonesian Observer, 26/06/2000).

Apakah Cybercrime itu?

Dalam beberapa literatur, cybercrime sering diidentikkan sebagai computer crime. The U.S. Department of Justice memberikan pengertian computer crime sebagai:”…any illegal act requiring knowledge of computer technology for its perpetration, investigation, or prosecution”. Pengertian lainnya diberikan oleh Organization of European Community Development, yaitu: “any illegal, unethical or unauthorized behavior relating to the automatic processing and/or the transmission of data”. Andi Hamzah dalam bukunya Aspek-aspek Pidana di Bidang Komputer (1989) mengartikan: “kejahatan di bidang komputer secara umum dapat diartikan sebagai penggunaan komputer secara ilegal”.

Dari beberapa pengertian di atas, computer crime dirumuskan sebagai perbuatan melawan hukum yang dilakukan dengan memakai komputer sebagai sarana/alat atau komputer sebagai objek, baik untuk memperoleh keuntungan ataupun tidak, dengan merugikan pihak lain. Secara ringkas computer crime didefinisikan sebagai perbuatan melawan hukum yang dilakukan dengan menggunakan teknologi komputer yang canggih (Wisnubroto, 1999).

Internet sebagai hasil rekayasa teknologi bukan hanya menggunakan kecanggihan teknologi komputer tapi juga melibatkan teknologi telekomunikasi di dalam pengoperasiannya. Apalagi pada saat internet sudah memasuki generasi kedua, perangkat komputer konvensional akan tergantikan oleh peralatan lain yang juga memiliki kemampuan mengakses internet. Untuk itu, ada upaya untuk memperluas pengertian computer agar dapat melingkupi segala kejahatan di internet dengan peralatan apapun, seperti pengertian computer dalam The Proposed West Virginia Computer Crimes Act, yaitu: “an electronic, magnetic, optical, electrochemical, or other high speed data processing device performing logical, arithmetic, or storage functions, and includes any data storage facility or communications facility directly related to or operating in conjunction with such device, but such term does not include an automated typewriter or type-setter, a portable hand-held calculator, or other similar device” (http://www.cybercrimes.net/). Namun begitu, tetap saja pada prakteknya pemahaman publik akan pengertian computer adalah perangkat komputer konvensional (PC, Notebook, Laptop) yang biasa terlihat.

Berdasarkan beberapa literatur serta prakteknya, cybercrime memiliki karakter yang khas dibandingkan kejahatan konvensional, yaitu antara lain:

1. Perbuatan yang dilakukan secara ilegal, tanpa hak atau tidak etis tersebut terjadi di ruang/wilayah maya (cyberspace), sehingga tidak dapat dipastikan yurisdiksi hukum negara mana yang berlaku terhadapnya;

2. Perbuatan tersebut dilakukan dengan menggunakan peralatan apapun yang bisa terhubung dengan jaringan telekomunikasi dan/atau internet;

3. Perbuatan tersebut mengakibatkan kerugian materil maupun immateril (waktu, nilai, jasa, uang, barang, harga diri, martabat, kerahasiaan informasi) yang cenderung lebih besar dibandingkan kejahatan konvensional;

4. Pelakunya adalah orang yang menguasai penggunaan internet beserta aplikasinya; dan

5. Perbuatan tersebut seringkali dilakukan secara transnasional/melintasi batas negara.

Beberapa Bentuk Cybercrime

Kejahatan yang berhubungan erat dengan penggunaan teknologi yang berbasis utama komputer dan jaringan telekomunikasi ini dalam beberapa literatur dan prakteknya dikelompokan dalam beberapa bentuk, antara lain:

1. Unauthorized Access to Computer System and Service

Kejahatan yang dilakukan dengan memasuki/menyusup ke dalam suatu sistem jaringan komputer secara tidak sah, tanpa izin atau tanpa sepengetahuan dari pemilik sistem jaringan komputer yang dimasukinya. Biasanya pelaku kejahatan (hacker) melakukannya dengan maksud sabotase ataupun pencurian informasi penting dan rahasia. Namun begitu, ada juga yang melakukan hanya karena merasa tertantang untuk mencoba keahliannya menembus suatu sistem yang memiliki tingkat proteksi tinggi. Kejahatan ini semakin marak dengan berkembangnya teknologi internet/intranet.

Kita tentu tidak lupa ketika masalah Timor Timur sedang hangat-hangatnya dibicarakan di tingkat internasional, beberapa website milik pemerintah RI dirusak oleh hacker (Kompas, 11/08/1999). Beberapa waktu lalu, hacker juga telah berhasil menembus masuk ke dalam database berisi data para pengguna jasa America Online (AOL), sebuah perusahaan Amerika Serikat yang bergerak dibidang e-commerce, yang memiliki tingkat kerahasiaan tinggi (Indonesian Observer, 26/06/2000). Situs Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) juga tidak luput dari serangan para hacker, yang mengakibatkan tidak berfungsinya situs ini dalam beberapa waktu lamanya (http://www.fbi.org.

2. Illegal Contents

Merupakan kejahatan dengan memasukkan data atau informasi ke internet tentang sesuatu hal yang tidak benar, tidak etis, dan dapat dianggap melanggar hukum atau mengganggu ketertiban umum. Sebagai contohnya adalah pemuatan suatu berita bohong atau fitnah yang akan menghancurkan martabat atau harga diri pihak lain, hal-hal yang berhubungan dengan pornografi atau pemuatan suatu informasi yang merupakan rahasia negara, agitasi dan propaganda untuk melawan pemerintahan yang sah, dan sebagainya.

3. Data Forgery

Merupakan kejahatan dengan memalsukan data pada dokumen-dokumen penting yang tersimpan sebagai scriptless document melalui internet. Kejahatan ini biasanya ditujukan pada dokumen-dokumen e-commerce dengan membuat seolah-olah terjadi “salah ketik” yang pada akhirnya akan menguntungkan pelaku.

4. Cyber Espionage

Merupakan kejahatan yang memanfaatkan jaringan internet untuk melakukan kegiatan mata-mata terhadap pihak lain, dengan memasuki sistem jaringan komputer (computer network system) pihak sasaran. Kejahatan ini biasanya ditujukan terhadap saingan bisnis yang dokumen ataupun data-data pentingnya tersimpan dalam suatu sistem yang computerized.

5. Cyber Sabotage and Extortion

Kejahatan ini dilakukan dengan membuat gangguan, perusakan atau penghancuran terhadap suatu data, program komputer atau sistem jaringan komputer yang terhubung dengan internet. Biasanya kejahatan ini dilakukan dengan menyusupkan suatu logic bomb, virus komputer ataupun suatu program tertentu, sehingga data, program komputer atau sistem jaringan komputer tidak dapat digunakan, tidak berjalan sebagaimana mestinya, atau berjalan sebagaimana yang dikehendaki oleh pelaku. Dalam beberapa kasus setelah hal tersebut terjadi, maka pelaku kejahatan tersebut menawarkan diri kepada korban untuk memperbaiki data, program komputer atau sistem jaringan komputer yang telah disabotase tersebut, tentunya dengan bayaran tertentu. Kejahatan ini sering disebut sebagai cyber-terrorism.

6. Offense against Intellectual Property

Kejahatan ini ditujukan terhadap Hak atas Kekayaan Intelektual yang dimiliki pihak lain di internet. Sebagai contoh adalah peniruan tampilan pada web page suatu situs milik orang lain secara ilegal, penyiaran suatu informasi di internet yang ternyata merupakan rahasia dagang orang lain, dan sebagainya.

7. Infringements of Privacy

Kejahatan ini ditujukan terhadap informasi seseorang yang merupakan hal yang sangat pribadi dan rahasia. Kejahatan ini biasanya ditujukan terhadap keterangan pribadi seseorang yang tersimpan pada formulir data pribadi yang tersimpan secara computerized, yang apabila diketahui oleh orang lain maka dapat merugikan korban secara materil maupun immateril, seperti nomor kartu kredit, nomor PIN ATM, cacat atau penyakit tersembunyi dan sebagainya.

Perang Melawan Cybercrime

Saat ini berbagai upaya telah dipersiapkan untuk memerangi cybercrime. The Organization for Economic Co-operation and Development (OECD) telah membuat guidelines bagi para pembuat kebijakan yang berhubungan dengan computer-related crime, di mana pada tahun 1986 OECD telah mempublikasikan laporannya yang berjudul Computer-Related Crime: Analysis of Legal Policy. Laporan ini berisi hasil survey terhadap peraturan perundang-undangan Negara-negara Anggota beserta rekomendasi perubahannya dalam menanggulangi computer-related crime tersebut, yang mana diakui bahwa sistem telekomunikasi juga memiliki peran penting dalam kejahatan tersebut.

Melengkapi laporan OECD, The Council of Europe (CE) berinisiatif melakukan studi mengenai kejahatan tersebut. Studi ini memberikan guidelines lanjutan bagi para pengambil kebijakan untuk menentukan tindakan-tindakan apa yang seharusnya dilarang berdasarkan hukum pidana Negara-negara Anggota, dengan tetap memperhatikan keseimbangan antara hak-hak sipil warga negara dan kebutuhan untuk melakukan proteksi terhadap computer-related crime tersebut. Pada perkembangannya, CE membentuk Committee of Experts on Crime in Cyberspace of the Committee on Crime Problems, yang pada tanggal 25 April 2000 telah mempublikasikan Draft Convention on Cyber-crime sebagai hasil kerjanya ( http://www.cybercrimes.net), yang menurut Prof. Susan Brenner (brenner@cybercrimes.net) dari University of Daytona School of Law, merupakan perjanjian internasional pertama yang mengatur hukum pidana dan aspek proseduralnya untuk berbagai tipe tindak pidana yang berkaitan erat dengan penggunaan komputer, jaringan atau data, serta berbagai penyalahgunaan sejenis.

Dari berbagai upaya yang dilakukan tersebut, telah jelas bahwa cybercrime membutuhkan global action dalam penanggulangannya mengingat kejahatan tersebut seringkali bersifat transnasional. Beberapa langkah penting yang harus dilakukan setiap negara dalam penanggulangan cybercrime adalah:

1. Melakukan modernisasi hukum pidana nasional beserta hukum acaranya, yang diselaraskan dengan konvensi internasional yang terkait dengan kejahatan tersebut;

2. Meningkatkan sistem pengamanan jaringan komputer nasional sesuai standar internasional

3. Meningkatkan pemahaman serta keahlian aparatur penegak hukum mengenai upaya pencegahan, investigasi dan penuntutan perkara-perkara yang berhubungan dengan cybercrime;

4. Meningkatkan kesadaran warga negara mengenai masalah cybercrime serta pentingnya mencegah kejahatan tersebut terjadi; dan
